Information current as of 11 August 2026

A new internet. A proprietary blockchain. Proprietary domains. A wallet. Banking. Artificial intelligence. Encrypted communication. Smart cities. Satellites.

SourceLess has announced more than a single product. It has announced an entire digital ecosystem.

The central question is therefore not whether individual websites or applications exist. The central question is:

Which of the announced systems are fully usable today, can be independently verified from a technical perspective and have been implemented in the form originally described?

This article compares the published announcements with what can be publicly verified today. It does not claim that a development for which no public evidence is available does not exist. It simply records what can be verified from accessible documents – and what remains unresolved.

Editorial note: This article distinguishes between company statements, publicly visible products, technical evidence and our own assessment. It is a piece of journalistic documentation and does not constitute individual legal, investment or technical advice.

1. Overview: What Is SourceLess?

SourceLess describes itself as a blockchain and Web3 company. Its founder and CEO is Alexandru Stratulat.

The original idea extended far beyond another cryptocurrency or an individual piece of software. According to the company's own description, SourceLess intended to create a new digital infrastructure connecting the internet, identity, communication and payments.

The STR.Domain was intended to be more than an internet address. It was also intended to function as a digital identity, access key, wallet address and connection to the entire SourceLess ecosystem.

Over time, the announced system included:

a proprietary hybrid blockchain;

an alternative domain and addressing system;

STR.Domains as digital identities;

a proprietary wallet;

a proprietary Web3 browser;

STR Talk, also described as Voice over Blockchain;

Web3 banking and IBAN accounts;

a hybrid exchange;

ARES AI;

Connect and eSIM services;

smart-city applications;

the tokenisation of real-world assets;

a proprietary communications network; and

two communications satellites.

On its current website, SourceLess continues to describe itself as a hybrid-blockchain platform. The principal components currently presented are STR.Domains, ARES AI, STR Talk and Ccoin Finance. SourceLess: current company website

2. The Issue: One Product Does Not Make an Ecosystem

Three separate levels must be considered when assessing SourceLess.

Level 1: The Announcement

A roadmap describes what is intended to be developed. It is a plan. It is not yet evidence of a finished technical implementation.

Level 2: The Visible Application

A website, login screen or user interface demonstrates that an application is being offered. It does not automatically reveal which infrastructure operates behind it, whether it runs on a proprietary blockchain or which functions are supplied by external providers.

Level 3: Independent Verification

A proprietary blockchain, banking service or encrypted communications solution would need to be technically and legally verifiable through specific documentation.

Depending on the product, this would include:

publicly accessible technical documentation;

source code or reliable developer documentation;

a functioning blockchain explorer;

verifiable nodes and network data;

independent security audits;

precise details of the software versions audited;

details of licence holders and the competent regulators;

the full names of the banks, card issuers and payment service providers involved; and

verifiable agreements or confirmations from announced partners.

This is precisely where the community analysis begins.

3. Chronology: From the Grand Announcement to the Current Position

2020 and 2021: The New Internet

According to the company, SourceLess was established around 2020. Its early communications announced not only a blockchain but an alternative to the existing World Wide Web.

In a company article dated 4 October 2021, SourceLess announced a beta version of the platform. The full release was scheduled for the beginning of 2022. The article described a new web, STR.Domains, a hybrid blockchain, peer-to-peer connections and the integration of further technologies. SourceLess article dated 4 October 2021

SourceLess had therefore set a specific timetable itself: at the beginning of 2022, the announcement was to become a usable platform.

2022: Domains, Wallet and Blockchain

The 2022 roadmaps listed the hybrid blockchain, STR.Domain and the wallet as central components. Further plans – including banking, communications, smart cities, satellites and the tokenisation of real-world assets – were announced or added later.

STR.Domains and wallet functions are now visible in various forms. The broader question, however, is the extent to which they already operate on the proprietary infrastructure originally announced and which functions are provided by third parties.

2023 and 2024: Testing, Hardware and New Deadlines

The roadmap currently published on the company's website lists an alpha version of the mainnet for December 2022. For 2023, it includes testing a second layer for STR.Domains, ARES, a SourceLess browser and STR Talk.

Further specific steps were announced for 2024:

delivery of STR.Domain pre-orders;

listings on Crypto.com, Binance, MEXC and Gate.io;

a fully functional e-bank, including a hybrid exchange;

the sale of a 15 per cent stake to an investment fund;

two low-Earth-orbit satellites; and

further exchange-listing and financing measures.

According to the roadmap, the listings were to be announced between 1 and 15 June 2024. The two satellites were scheduled for late October and early November 2024, respectively. These dates have since passed, but they remain on the publicly accessible roadmap. SourceLess: roadmap

2025 and 2026: Visible Individual Products

Several services are publicly accessible today:

STR.Domains can be searched for and purchased;

ARES AI is presented as an artificial-intelligence application;

Ccoin Finance offers registration and financial functions;

STR Talk is advertised as a communications platform; and

further applications are listed as part of the ecosystem.

This demonstrates that SourceLess is more than a presentation. Websites, access points and individual usable functions exist.

It does not, however, answer whether the entire system originally announced has been fully implemented.

This table does not assess whether a project continues to be developed internally. It shows which information is missing for an external examination.

5. STR.Domains: A Visible Product with Conflicting Figures

STR.Domains are the most clearly visible SourceLess product.

The domains are advertised as lifelong digital identities. On the current product page, a private domain costs US$199 and a business domain costs US$999. Website hosting and cryptocurrency payments are also described there as “Coming Soon”. STR.Domains: current offering

One point is therefore clear: the product can be purchased. According to the company's own presentation, however, some of the more extensive functions are still in preparation.

Different company statements concerning adoption are also notable:

The SourceLess product page states that more than 200,000 domains have been secured.

The current STR.Domains website states that more than 10,000 domains have been claimed.

Both websites form part of the SourceLess environment. Neither page appears to explain the different counting methods, the respective reporting dates or the underlying datasets. SourceLess: STR.Domain product page · STR.Domains

From a technical perspective, an STR.Domain is not automatically equivalent to a conventional internet domain.

A conventional domain works through the globally established Domain Name System and can be accessed using standard browsers. An alternative blockchain naming system requires its own resolvers, browser support or extensions. The decisive point is therefore not merely whether a name appears in an internal registry. What matters is where and how it can actually be used.

6. Banking: Who Provides Which Service?

On its own website, SourceLess describes Ccoin Finance as a private-banking solution. Among other claims, the Ccoin page refers to offshore accounts, cards, cryptocurrency and fiat payments, cooperation with a banking licence dating back to 1989, 120,000 active users and a monthly volume of 120 million. SourceLess: Ccoin Finance

Ccoin's own privacy policy describes its role in more detail:

Ccoin is operated by CCOIN FINANCE CORPORATE STRUCTURE CO., LTD in Laos and acts as a technology and connectivity platform. Financial accounts, payment cards and related services are operated by independent, regulated third-party providers. A current list of these partners is available on request. Ccoin: privacy policy

That is a material distinction.

A platform can facilitate technical access to an account. This does not make the platform itself a bank or card issuer.

Before entering into an agreement, customers should therefore be able to identify at least the following points clearly:

Which institution opens the specific account?

In which country is that institution authorised?

Which regulatory authority is responsible?

Who issues the card?

Who is the customer's contractual counterparty?

What deposit-guarantee scheme or other protection applies?

Which company receives funds or crypto-assets?

Which rules apply to taxation, reporting, account restrictions and repayments?

A general statement referring to “regulated third-party providers” does not answer these questions for an individual product.

7. The Business Model: Technology and Distribution

SourceLess does not sell only digital products. The company also operates a multi-level affiliate and distribution system.

Distribution partners can refer products and participate in various levels of remuneration. The documents reviewed describe, among other arrangements, direct commissions, binary remuneration and additional levels.

A current German-language distribution-partner website states that access to the affiliate shop costs US$149, followed by an annual fee of US$99 after the first year. It describes five types of remuneration. This information comes from the distribution network and must be distinguished from independent technical evidence. A distribution partner's SourceLess affiliate compensation plan

A distribution system is neither technical evidence in itself nor an automatic assessment of the product. It does, however, change the economic questions that must be asked.

The decisive questions are:

How many products are sold to independent end customers?

How many purchases also serve as a means of participating in the distribution system?

What proportion of revenue results from actual use of the technology?

What proportion comes from registrations, packages and purchases made by new distribution partners?

What recurring revenue is generated outside the distribution network?

The more strongly the company's economic development depends on new partners and package purchases, the more important it becomes to demonstrate an independent product benefit outside the compensation system.

8. Audits, Patents and Partnerships

In its materials, SourceLess refers to patents, technical developments, audits and numerous partnerships.

The current partner page lists organisations from the fields of sport, human rights, energy, media, art and Web3. The appearance of a name on a partner page initially demonstrates that SourceLess presents the relationship as a partnership. It does not automatically establish the partnership's scope, duration or technical substance. SourceLess: partners

A reliable technical audit would require at least:

the name and independence of the auditing body;

the date and complete audit report;

the exact designation of the software version audited;

the audit's scope and limitations;

the vulnerabilities identified; and

evidence that the audited version corresponds to the production system.

A patent number is not evidence that a system functions either. A patent application documents a described technical idea. It does not automatically confirm that a market-ready product exists or that the claimed performance is achieved in actual operation.

9. What Is Documented – and What Remains Unresolved?

Publicly Documented

SourceLess was founded by Alexandru Stratulat and is presented as a Web3 and blockchain company.

An alternative internet and blockchain ecosystem has been announced since 2021.

STR.Domains are currently being sold.

Ccoin Finance has publicly accessible account and card interfaces.

ARES AI and STR Talk are presented as applications.

SourceLess operates an affiliate and distribution system.

The company's current roadmap continues to include deadlines and projects dating from 2022 to 2024.

Ccoin itself states that financial services are provided by independent, regulated third parties.

Not Conclusively Verifiable from Publicly Available Information

which parts of the original overall project are fully operational;

which applications actually run on a proprietary SourceLess blockchain;

the size and independence of the active network;

how the different domain figures were calculated;

which specific institutions provide the individual banking and card services;

which announced exchange listings, financing measures and satellite projects were implemented;

which audits fully cover the systems currently in production;

how revenue is divided between end-customer use and the distribution system; and

why individual projects were postponed, changed or removed from later presentations.

10. Summary

SourceLess has formulated ambitious goals. That is not the problem.

The problem begins when a roadmap becomes a sales argument without the status of each project being clearly identifiable.

An announced satellite is not a launched satellite.

An announced banking function is not a proprietary banking licence.

A visible wallet does not prove the existence of a fully independent blockchain.

An STR.Domain available for purchase is not yet a globally established domain system.

A partner logo does not explain what the partnership actually involves.

SourceLess offers more today than a set of presentation slides. Individual products and access points are visible. At the same time, there remains a substantial, publicly verifiable gap between the overall system originally announced and the position today.

The solution would be straightforward: an up-to-date roadmap, unambiguous product statuses, verifiable network data, complete audits, specifically identified licensed partners and verifiable key figures.

Then no one would have to believe.

Everyone could verify.
